Standard Basket Trees have two dowel lengths. The shorter 2 (or3) install in the top holes and the longer 3 (or 2) install in the bottom holes. Use a standard carpenter’s hammer and tap the dowels halfway into the holes, starting from the end with the small dowel pin. The dowel pin should be positioned at the top of the dowel to keep baskets from sliding off the ends.
If the hole is too tight, spraying silicone or other lubricants on the dowel will make the installation easier.
Install the dowel pin in the other end of the dowel after the dowel is centered in the post.
